1. Introduction

Welcome to our matchmaking service for homeowners and Seniors. By using our platform to find and hire workers, you agree to comply with the following terms and conditions.

2. Service Description

Our service connects homeowners with independent contractors who can assist with various home maintenance tasks such as cutting grass, trimming hedges, loading boxes, and cleaning garages,help moving etc. We facilitate the matching process and handle payment processing.

3. Independent Contractors

You acknowledge that the workers you hire through our platform are independent contractors, not employees, agents, or representatives of our company. They are responsible for their own insurance, taxes, and statutory obligations.

4. Assignment Requests

When requesting an assignment, you must provide clear and accurate descriptions of the tasks to be completed. You agree to communicate any specific requirements or expectations to the worker before they start the assignment.

5. Payment Terms and Fees

You must pay a fee of $20. per month to use this service. (you can cancel at any time)

When you need help, and accept a worker, there is a fee of $20 per worker dispatched to the project.

Once the project is complete and you are satisfied with the work. You will pay directly to the worker(s) the agreed upon price for the project.

6. No-Show- Refund Policy

If a worker accepts an assignment and fails to show up without prior notice and reasonable cause, they will be prohibited from accepting new assignments for a period of six months. You are encouraged to report any no-shows to our service for enforcement of this policy. We will credit you or refund you the dispatch fee you paid.

7. Quality of Work and Satisfaction

You are entitled to receive high-quality work that meets your satisfaction. We will work with you and the worker to resolve any disputes.

8. Compliance with Laws

You agree to comply with all local, provincial, state and federal laws and regulations related to hiring independent contractors for home tasks. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring a safe working environment for the worker.

9. Tools and Equipment

While workers are responsible for providing assistance to your project, you agree to provide the necessary tools or equipment that may be necessary. You must ensure that any equipment provided is safe and in good working condition.

10. Confidentiality

You agree to maintain the confidentiality of any sensitive information you may come across during the course of using our service. This includes, but is not limited to, worker personal information and any proprietary information about our service.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate your access to our platform at any time for any reason, including but not limited to breaches of these terms of service, misuse of the platform, or complaints from workers.

12. Limitation of Liability

You acknowledge that our service is not liable for any injuries, damages, or losses incurred during the performance of work by the independent contractors. You are responsible for ensuring a safe working environment and for addressing any issues directly with the worker.

13. Amendments

We may update these terms of service from time to time. You will be notified of any changes, and continued use of our platform will constitute acceptance of the updated terms.

14. Governing Law

These terms of service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Nova Scotia. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the courts of Nova Scotia.

You acknowledge and agree that your relationship with our service is that of an independent contractor. You are not an employee, agent, or representative of our company. As an independent contractor, you are responsible for your own insurance, taxes, and other statutory obligations.

3. Assignment Acceptance

By accepting an assignment, you agree to complete the tasks outlined by the client to their satisfaction. You must confirm your availability and commitment to the assignment before acceptance.

4. Payment Terms

You will be paid by the homeowner or business according to the details listed in the work order once the client has confirmed their satisfaction with your work. If the client is not satisfied, action MUST be taken to make things right!

5. No-Show Policy

If you accept an assignment and fail to show up without prior notice and reasonable cause, you will be prohibited from accepting new assignments for a period of three months. Consistent no-shows may result in permanent removal from our platform.

6. Work Quality and Client Satisfaction

You are expected to perform all tasks to the best of your ability and ensure that the client is satisfied with your work. Any disputes or issues regarding the quality of work must be promptly addressed to a satisfactory resolution.

7. Compliance with Laws

You must comply with all local, provincial, state, and federal laws and regulations related to the services you provide. This includes, but is not limited to, obtaining any necessary licenses or permits.

8. Tools and Equipment

As an independent contractor, you are responsible for providing your own tools and equipment necessary to complete the assignments. You must ensure that all tools and equipment are in good working condition and used safely.

9. Confidentiality

You agree to maintain the confidentiality of any sensitive information you may come across during the course of your assignments. This includes, but is not limited to, client personal information, addresses, and any proprietary information about our service.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate your access to our platform at any time for any reason, including but not limited to breaches of these terms of service, poor performance, or complaints from clients.

11. Limitation of Liability

As an independent contractor, you acknowledge that our service is not liable for any injuries, damages, or losses incurred during the performance of your duties. You are responsible for your own safety and the safety of others while on assignment.

We may update these terms of service from time to time. You will be notified of any changes, and continued use of our platform will constitute acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms of service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Nova Scotia. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the courts of Nova Scotia.

How does the payment process work for homeowners or businesses that want to use City Helpers?
- You join City Helpers and pay a fee of $20. (cancel anytime) You can use our service as often as you need in that month
- When you need help, you pay a dispatch fee of $20.00 per worker.
What is the relationship between workers and CityHelpers.ca?
- Workers on CityHelpers.ca are independent contractors, not employees. They are responsible for their own insurance, taxes, and statutory obligations.
How do I get paid as a worker on CityHelpers.ca?
- Upon satisfactory work completed, and the homeowner confirms their satisfaction, you will be paid directly from the homeowner or business the agreed upon rate.
What happens if a worker doesn’t show up for an assignment?
- If a worker fails to show up without prior notice and reasonable cause, they will be prohibited from accepting new assignments for three months. Consistent no-shows may lead to permanent removal from the platform.
- For a homeowner or business, if a worker does not show up, the homeowner or business can have a replacement worker or a refund of the dispatch fee.
What should I do if I’m not satisfied with the work performed?
- If you’re not satisfied with the work, you should immediately notify CityHelpers.ca. The platform will work with both you and the worker to resolve the issue.
Are workers responsible for providing their own tools and equipment?
- Workers are available to help with your task. The homeowner or business should be providing any tools necessary to complete the assignments. However, workers should come prepared to perform any task necessary in a safe manner.
How does the worker(s) get paid?
- The payment amount the homeowner or business listed should be paid directly to the worker(s). Payment should not be paid until the homeowners or businesses satisfaction with the completed work. There are no fees for the worker(s) to work through City Helpers.
Can I be removed from the platform as a worker?
- Yes, CityHelpers.ca reverses the right to terminate your access to the platform for breaches of the terms of service, poor performance, or complaints from clients.
What if I encounter a legal issue while working?
- As a worker, you are required to comply with all relevant local, provincial, state, and federal laws. CityHelpers.ca is not liable for any legal issues that arise during your work.
How are disputes between homeowners and workers resolved?
- Any disputes regarding the quality of work or other issues must be reported to CityHelpers.ca, which will work with both parties to resolve the matter.
What laws govern the use of CityHelpers.ca?
- The terms of service and any disputes arising from them are governed by the laws of Nova Scotia, and any legal matters will be resolved in the courts of Nova Scotia.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By subscribing to CityHelpers.ca’s business services, you agree to these Terms and Conditions (the “Agreement”). These terms govern the use of our services and are binding between you (“the business”) and CityHelpers.ca.

2. Business Subscription

Monthly Subscription: Businesses pay $49.99 per month to access workers via CityHelpers.ca. This subscription includes unlimited hiring of workers for short-term projects.
Annual Subscription: An annual subscription is available for $549.99, providing the same benefits as the monthly subscription, along with free prime advertising spots on CityHelpers.ca.

3. Project Fee and Remittance Charges

In addition to the monthly subscription fee, businesses are responsible for paying the agreed-upon project fee to the worker..
Payment for services is managed through your business and will be processed upon completion of the project. as stated in the work order.

4. Advertising Benefits for Annual Subscribers

Annual subscribers receive free prime advertising spots on CityHelpers.ca for the duration of their subscription. The placement and availability of these spots are subject to change based on platform capacity and other considerations.

5. Worker Dispatch and Selection

CityHelpers.ca will assign vetted workers to your projects based on the skills required. While CityHelpers.ca aims to match workers based on your preferences, the final decision rests with CityHelpers.ca to ensure the best fit for the project.

6. Payment Terms

Businesses are required to fund project payments. Payments will be released to the worker upon successful completion of the project.
Payment disputes must be raised within 48 hours of project completion.

7. Cancellation and Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. No refunds will be provided for any subscription fee paid, except in cases where CityHelpers.ca has failed to deliver the services as outlined in this agreement.
Cancelling the annual subscription will forfeit your free advertising benefits.

8. Liability

CityHelpers.ca serves as a platform to connect businesses with workers and is not liable for the work performed by dispatched workers. Businesses assume responsibility for verifying the completion and quality of the project.
CityHelpers.ca is not liable for any damages, losses, or liabilities arising from disputes between the business and the worker.

9. Compliance with Laws

Businesses must comply with all relevant employment, tax, and business regulations. It is your responsibility to ensure compliance with local laws.

10. Intellectual Property

All content, including logos, trademarks, and designs displayed on CityHelpers.ca, remains the property of CityHelpers.ca. Businesses subscribing to annual plans may only use advertising spaces provided by CityHelpers.ca in a manner approved by our team.

11. Modification of Services

CityHelpers.ca reserves the right to modify or discontinue any part of the service with or without notice. Significant changes to the terms will be communicated in advance via email or through platform notifications.

12. Termination of Service

CityHelpers.ca may terminate your subscription or access to services at its discretion if you violate these terms or engage in conduct detrimental to the platform or other users.

13. Dispute Resolution

In the event of any disputes arising out of or relating to this Agreement, CityHelpers.ca will attempt to resolve the issue through mediation. If mediation fails, disputes will be handled in accordance with the laws of Alberta, Canada.

14. Limitation of Liability

CityHelpers.ca’s liability is limited to the subscription fees paid by the business in the six (6) months preceding the claim. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, punitive, or consequential damages.

15. Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Halifex, Canada. Any legal action or proceeding related to this Agreement shall be brought exclusively in a court located in Helifex, Canada.

By using our platform to hire workers, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms of service.
